About
About SolarCostData Live, the data desk and its scope.
The World Electricity Clock is published by the SolarCostData Data Desk, part of solarcostdata.com. It is a live board of near-real-time wholesale electricity prices and generation from official grid operators, with each number labelled as Metered, Derived or Estimated and shown with the time it was taken.
We collect public data from operators in Great Britain, Denmark, Australia and Taiwan, check it against published rules, and display it with the attribution each licence requires. If a source goes quiet, the page says it is paused instead of showing a guess. We do not forecast, and nothing here is trading or operational advice.
The Data Desk is independent of the grid operators and markets we report on. No operator, utility or energy company has reviewed or endorsed these pages, and our use of their data does not imply official status.
The editorial text on this site, including the market notes, glossary and methodology, is written and maintained by the Data Desk. Errors in numbers or text are corrected and the change is dated. To report a mistake or ask about a data source, use the contact page at solarcostdata.com/contact.
